We're growing fast and are looking for an experienced Tooling Mold Maker to help us keep quality at the core of everything we do.
What You’ll Do
- Build new molds and perform repairs on production molds
- Operate tool room equipment safely and efficiently, including CNC machines, lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM equipment
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and dimensional tolerances
- Analyze tool designs and recommend improvements to mold construction and functionality
- Prepare and verify injection molds for qualification in molding machines
- Utilize software to review and support 3D mold design during build and assembly
- Inspect and verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, dial indicators, gage blocks)
- Troubleshoot molds and perform maintenance as needed
- Communicate tooling issues with the Tooling Manager and production teams
- Coordinate with the Tooling Manager to prioritize workload and assignments
- Complete and maintain required documentation for tooling and repairs
- Review specifications, blueprints, and shop data to resolve issues related to materials, tolerances, manufacturing processes, and cost
- Perform other duties as assigned
What You Bring
- Journeyman Tool & Die Maker certification or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of plastic injection mold experience
- Proficiency with CAM systems, CNC mills, and EDM equipment
- Highly skilled with electrode design and machining.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Basic computer skills (data entry, documentation, systems use)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks (bending, crouching, standing, etc.)
- Ability to follow safety procedures and work independently or as part of a team
