Job description

Job Summary: 

The Web Developer Work Study assists the Senior Digital & Graphic Designer in maintaining Drury University’s website, specifically by updating and optimizing UI & UX interfaces, content, graphics, designs, data dashboards, and layouts. The Web Developer Work Study should stay updated on emerging digital trends and be prepared to make recommendations to the Marketing & Communications team.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assists Senior Digital & Graphic Designer in completing web update requests as they come in through the department’s ticketing system. 
  • Helps to provide great UX on the Drury University website with the ultimate goal of providing information and resources to current students, faculty, staff, alumni and other relevant parties in the best way possible. 
  • Coordinates and collaborates directly with Drury employees requesting changes to the website to ensure web content is current, relevant, compelling, and consistent. 
  • Participates in the ongoing process of updating each department’s web presence.

  • Basic HTML, CSS, and background knowledge of web technologies. 
  • Familiarity with WordPress is preferred. 
  • Experience with content management systems and basic web development software is preferred. 
  • Ability to learn and master new technologies. 
  • Ability to focus attention to details and providing accurate corrections.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload. 
  • Ability to work independently and set workloads. 
  • Ability to set goals and complete work in a timely manner. 

 

Education and Experience:  

  • Must be a regular, full-time student, enrolled in at least 12 hours per semester 
  • Must have a completed FAFSA on file with Financial Aid for the current academic year
