Business Development Manager – Data Centre Vertical

What You Will Do

As a Business Development Manager focused on the Data Centre Vertical, you will lead the identification, development, and conversion of new business opportunities across a defined region and customer portfolio. Working closely with sales, operations, and technical teams, you will develop strategic relationships with key stakeholders in the rapidly growing data centre sector. You will analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements to identify opportunities that drive sustainable revenue growth. This role combines strategic business development with consultative customer engagement, helping to expand our presence within one of the most critical infrastructure markets.

How You Will Do It

  • Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities within the data centre market.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers, consultants, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute business development plans aligned to regional and vertical growth objectives.
  • Analyse market trends, customer requirements, and competitor activity to identify strategic opportunities.
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, and operational teams to develop winning customer solutions.
  • Lead customer engagement activities including presentations, workshops, networking events, and industry conferences.
  • Manage the sales pipeline effectively, ensuring accurate forecasting and reporting.
  • Support the preparation of commercial proposals, tenders, and contract negotiations.
  • Drive customer satisfaction through a consultative and value-driven approach.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of data centre technologies, market developments, and industry best practices.

What We Are Looking For

Required:

  • University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in business development, sales, or commercial leadership roles.
  • Proven track record of developing and securing new business opportunities.
  • Experience building and managing strategic customer relationships.
  • Strong understanding of consultative selling and solution-based business development.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Commercially astute with strong analytical and market assessment capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel as required within the assigned region.

Preferred:

  • Experience working within the data centre, critical infrastructure, building technologies, or related sectors.
  • Knowledge of data centre operators, developers, consultants, and key market influencers.
  • Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales opportunities.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales forecasting tools.
  • Understanding of sustainability, energy efficiency, and digital infrastructure trends impacting the data centre market.
