Job Summary
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving new business growth by developing strategic relationships with luxury home builders, interior designers, architects, developers, and high-net-worth homeowners. This role focuses on expanding Spire's presence within the luxury residential market through networking, consultative selling, and exceptional relationship management.
The ideal candidate is highly connected within the luxury design and construction industry and has a proven ability to generate business through referrals, strategic partnerships, and outstanding client experiences. This individual will collaborate closely with Sales, Design, Engineering, Project Management, Marketing, and Executive Leadership to identify opportunities early in the design and construction process while positioning Spire as the premier technology integration partner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Business Development
- Develop and execute strategies to generate new business opportunities within the luxury residential market.
- Build and maintain relationships with interior designers, architects, luxury builders, developers, and other industry professionals.
- Identify projects during the planning and design stages to position Spire as the preferred technology partner.
- Maintain an active pipeline of qualified opportunities through networking, referrals, industry events, and community involvement.
- Consistently achieve established sales and business development goals.
Client Relationship Management
- Build long-term relationships with clients, referral partners, and industry influencers.
- Serve as a trusted advisor throughout the client journey from initial consultation through project completion.
- Conduct regular outreach to existing clients and referral partners to generate repeat and referral business.
- Ensure clients receive an exceptional luxury customer experience throughout every interaction.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients after project completion to strengthen relationships and identify future opportunities.
Consultative Sales
- Conduct client consultations to understand lifestyle, design goals, and technology needs.
- Present customized technology solutions that align with the client's vision and lifestyle.
- Utilize storytelling and visual demonstrations to communicate the value of integrated technology solutions.
- Collaborate with the Design and Engineering teams to develop proposals and presentations.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and sales activity reports.
Brand Development
- Represent Spire at networking events, builder associations, designer events, trade shows, and community functions.
- Promote the Spire brand through professional presentations and relationship-building activities.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team on client events, showroom experiences, educational seminars, and promotional initiatives.
- Stay informed of industry trends in luxury residential construction, interior design, architecture, furniture, lighting, and smart home technology.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Partner closely with Sales, Design, Engineering, Project Management, and Installation teams to ensure a seamless client experience.
- Participate in strategy meetings regarding key opportunities and client relationships.
- Provide market intelligence regarding competitors, industry trends, and emerging opportunities.
- Assist leadership in developing strategies to increase market share within targeted luxury residential segments.
Reporting & Metrics
- Maintain an accurate and active sales pipeline within the CRM system.
- Track and report on business development activities, referral sources, and sales performance.
- Monitor conversion rates, project opportunities, and client engagement metrics.
- Provide regular reports to executive leadership regarding sales activities, forecasts, and market trends.
