What You'll Do

As the Human Resources Manager, you'll serve as the organization's HR leader, partnering with management and employees to ensure effective, compliant, and people-centered HR practices.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Human Resources Operations

  • Oversee day-to-day HR operations and initiatives
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on employee and workplace matters
  • Ensure HR policies, systems, and processes are effective, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals

Drive Talent Acquisition and Employee Experience

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment and hiring efforts
  • Oversee onboarding programs that help employees feel welcomed and prepared for success
  • Support retention, engagement, and organizational culture initiatives

Manage Employee Relations

  • Provide coaching and guidance to leaders and employees
  • Support performance management processes
  • Participate in investigations, corrective action processes, and conflict resolution efforts

Oversee Payroll, Benefits, and Compensation

  • Supervise payroll coordination and review processes
  • Serve as a primary resource for employee benefits
  • Maintain compensation structures and support market benchmarking efforts

Ensure Compliance and Reduce Risk

  • Maintain compliance with employment laws and regulations
  • Oversee HR documentation, recordkeeping, internal controls, and audit readiness
  • Support employee-benefit related HIPAA compliance activities

Lead Volunteer Engagement Operations

  • Supervise the Volunteer Engagement Specialist
  • Ensure a consistent, effective, and welcoming volunteer experience across the organization
  • Strengthen volunteer onboarding, training, engagement, and retention efforts

Support Organizational Development

  • Coordinate policy and compliance training
  • Participate in leadership development initiatives
  • Chair the TIDE Committee and support Wellness, Safety, and Communications Committees

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
  • 5 to 7 years of progressive Human Resources experience
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or comparable HR certification
  • Experience working in a nonprofit, healthcare, community services, or mission-driven environment
