Human Resources Manager – Engineering & Technical Functions

About Breville

Over the past 90+ years Breville has grown to become an iconic global brand, delivering
kitchen products to over 70 countries around the globe. Breville enhances
people’s lives through the delivery of brilliant innovation and thoughtful
design based on deep consumer insights, empowering people to do things more
impressively or easily than they’d thought possible in their own home and
ultimately allowing them to “Master Every Moment”.

A career at
Breville is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. It’s more than working for a
global leader; it’s an opportunity to be a part of something that impacts
people all over the world.

About the role

This is a high-impact HR role at the heart of Breville’s fastest-evolving functions. You’ll partner with senior technical and operational leaders—including our CTO and COO—to align people strategy with business growth, change agendas, and operational targets across a fast-growing, multi-country organization.

You’ll bring deep credibility with technical teams, the judgment to operate independently, and the ability to translate complex people data into insights that drive action. The role blends partnership with execution—you’ll advise leaders and personally drive outcomes.
A signature aspect of this role is partnering with the Global Head of HR and the CTO to enable AI adoption within Engineering and across the broader business—shaping how Breville’s People agenda evolves in response to technological transformation.
You’ll report to the Global Head of HR in Sydney, Australia and work day-to-day with leaders across the United States, Canada, and Australia.

What You’ll Do

  • Business Partnership & Leadership Coaching
  • Partner with executive and senior leaders across Software Engineering, Technical Services, Sales Operations & Planning, and other supported functions to develop people strategies tightly aligned to business objectives.
  • Coach leaders on performance, accountability, and building high-performing teams within technical disciplines.
  • Develop a deep understanding of each function’s challenges and opportunities, delivering tailored solutions rather than one-size-fits-all programs.

AI Enablement & Transformation

  • Partner with our Global Head of HR and our CTO to drive AI enablement within Engineering and the organization at large, informing all pillars of our People agenda from role design through to how we measure and reward performance. Lead adoption strategies, capability building, and change communication.
  • Bring curiosity about how HR itself can leverage AI and analytics to improve decision making and service delivery.

 Organizational Effectiveness

  •  Lead organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and role clarity for technical and engineering teams.
  • Own and evolve levelling frameworks, job architecture, and compensation structures—ensuring consistency, equity, and market competitiveness.
  • Drive engagement, culture, retention, and inclusive leadership across all supported teams.
Independently manage complex employee relations matters, including investigations, corrective action, and terminations.

People Analytics & Cyclical Programs

  • Analyze people data to identify trends, diagnose issues, and tell a compelling story that drives action.
  • Deliver cyclical HR programs including performance reviews, engagement surveys, and reward cycles.

Collaboration & Compliance

  •  Partner with the HR Manager accountable for leading our North American business partnering with the Sales & Marketing organizations, and the Americas HR team, including Payroll & Recruiting, on leadership of the Americas People agenda.
  • Ensure compliant application of HR policies and US employment law across multiple jurisdictions.

Departments Supported

  • Technical Services, including Software Engineering and Product Development
  •  Operations / Sales & Operations Planning, including Customer Support
  • Legal & Accounting (select groups)

What You’ll Need

  •  10+ years of progressive HR experience, with significant time supporting engineering or product teams in tech or tech-adjacent environments.
  •  Proven ability to influence people and business outcomes at Director and executive level.
  •  Strong commercial acumen: you understand how technical functions create value and connect people strategy to business results.
  •  Experience supporting teams through AI or digital transformation. Genuine interest in how AI is reshaping the future of work.
  •  Deep expertise in employee relations, investigations, performance management, and compliance.
  •  Experience with organizational design, levelling frameworks, job architecture, and compensation structures.
  •  Comfortable leading through change, ambiguity, and fast-moving priorities.
  •  Strong analytical skills with experience in people metrics and data storytelling.
  •  Excellent executive communication, discretion, and influencing skills.
  •  Emotional intelligence, resilience, and empathy—you build trust across diverse, technical teams.
  •  Ability to work effectively across time zones, particularly with leadership in Sydney, Australia.

What we offer you:

  • Flexible work arrangements
  • Competitive compensation package
  • A fun and rewarding team environment
  • Opportunity to work for an Australian Stock Exchange listed company
  • Employee assistance program
  • Paid parental leave policy
  • Employee discounts of up to 50% on all our electrical products
  • Corporate health and
    wellness benefits
