Job description

About the Role

NinjaOne is looking for a Localization Engineer to support our in-house team of Localization Specialists, Web Developers and Project Managers. This role combines strong technical abilities with intimate knowledge of localization challenges and requires the healthy support and enablement mindset of a forward-thinking team-player.
Reporting directly to the Localization Director, you will be responsible for the complete localization infrastructure, that powers various asset production workflows. As part of our Localization Operations Teams, you collaborate closely with other internal stakeholders, to guarantee the operational readiness of our Translation Management System. Your primary responsibilities include tool management, troubleshooting, testing and assistance in finding automated solutions to overcome manual challenges across all technical aspects of a mature localization ecosystem (CAT-tools, terminology management, translation memories, AI, video localization, import filters, RegEx, CMS & other content connectors, etc.).
This role is tailor-made for an experienced localization engineer, who is used to work with heterogenic content types, CAT-tools and stakeholder needs. If you acquired a robust understanding of common localization challenges as well as the technical skillset to develop processes to overcome them, we cannot wait to get to know you.

Location - Remote from Germany

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Tool Management: You are responsible for managing our localization infrastructure (mainly MemoQ; Lilt; WPML; content connectors).
  • Team Support: You support our team of in-house Localization Specialists by troubleshooting problems, assisting in onboarding new team members, automating localization processes and evangelizing localization best practices throughout the team.
  • Resource Management: You bring maturity into our resource management (TMs, TBs, import filters, file preparation processes, etc.) and support our Localization Specialists by improving unproductive, manual processes.
  • Testing & Troubleshooting: You support our team to overcome challenges and use available tools to design more efficient workflows, that generate better results. In addition, you help us with finding and implementing the right tools for the job.
  • Asset production: You support the team to overcome localization obstacles in technically challenging areas like Website, Audio, Video, AI, 3rd-party-software or similar challenging localization projects.
  • Drive Innovation: You support us in finding the right tools for the job and implementing them. You function as the liaison between our internal team and external vendors and help us overcome technical challenges in implementing new solutions and workflows (especially around AI and content connectors).
  • Perform other duties as needed.

About You

  • 2+ years of experience in a technical role, supporting localization teams (vendor-side or in-house).
  • Proven work experience with TMS / CAT-Tools.
  • Experience with common localization challenges, root cause analysis, handling various file formats, automating localization processes and cleaning up localization resources.
  • Experience with common file formats: .xliff, .tmx, .json, .csv, html/xml
  • Previous work experience with Regular Expressions.
  • Deep understanding of common localization challenges, workflows and best practices.
  • Fluency in more than one language - German as one preferred.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience working with MemoQ, Lilt, Wordpress and/or WPML.
  • Experience with Terminology-Management tools.
  • Batch or Python experience.
  • Familiarity with php and/or JavaScript.
  • Prior work experience with AI implementation or grading frameworks.
