We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Record to Report team in Sofia, Bulgaria. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality accounting and financial reporting services for selected countries and processes, coordinating month-end close activities, and ensuring accurate and compliant financial records. This is a great opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to take on a senior, end-to-end role in an international environment and contribute to the continuous improvement of Kalmar’s finance operations.

What are your key responsibilities:

• End-to-end accounting & reporting: Independently perform and coordinate month-end close, general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting in line with agreed controls and procedures.

• Quality, compliance & controls: Ensure accurate data in company systems, deliver error-free processes, and work in full compliance with accounting policies, KAS, internal control framework, and legal requirements.

• Stakeholder management: Act as a primary point of contact for selected partners and processes, handling complex accounting topics, unusual transactions, and ad-hoc requests in a professional and timely manner.

• Process improvement & projects: Participate in and support continuous improvement initiatives, transitions, and cross-functional projects across the end-to-end finance processes (OTC, ITP, HR, RTR).

• Knowledge sharing & team support: Lead or participate in cross-training, support new team members, provide back-up for key RTR roles, and build strong, collaborative relationships within the team.

What you bring to the role:

• Education & experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics, with at least 4 years of relevant experience in finance operations, preferably in a Shared Services environment.

• Process & systems knowledge: Strong understanding of end-to-end Record-to-Report processes and hands-on experience with ERP systems and Google Workspace.

• Analytical & problem-solving skills: Ability to handle complex accounting topics, identify root causes, and manage unusual transactions with confidence.

• Collaboration & communication: Strong interpersonal skills, professional communication style, and full proficiency in English.

• Ownership & proactive mindset: High level of accountability, attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset.
