Position Description:
CGI Federal is seeking an experienced Senior Java Full Stack Developer to provide end to end ownership of critical internal applications supporting SSA's MDE platform. In this role, you will serve as the primary engineer responsible for the design, development, security, deployment, and sustainment of production systems relied upon by mission stakeholders. This position is ideal for a highly self sufficient technologist comfortable operating across a diverse enterprise ecosystem and contributing to multiple codebases with minimal ramp up time.

Your future duties and responsibilities:
. Lead full life cycle development of Spring Boot 3.x applications, including backend services, REST/OpenAPI interfaces, and server rendered UI using Thymeleaf/Mustache, Bootstrap, HTMX, and jQuery.
. Design, optimize, and maintain PostgreSQL database models leveraging JPA/Hibernate, Liquibase/Flyway migrations, and schema/role governance.
. Implement and support authentication and authorization mechanisms such as LDAP/Active Directory, JWT (RS256), OAuth2, and Spring Security.
. Maintain and evolve multi module Maven builds, including integration of internal SSA/MDE libraries and plugin configurations such as JaCoCo and Surefire/Failsafe.
. Develop and maintain robust automated test suites using JUnit 5, Mockito, Cucumber/BDD, Selenium, and Parasoft SOAtest (where applicable), including coverage gating.
. Support SSA Jenkins CI/CD pipelines and environment configuration via Spring Cloud Config; troubleshoot and extend Groovy based Jenkins shared library functions.
. Contribute to Python automation tooling and assist with Helm based deployments and Kubernetes/OpenShift operational troubleshooting.
. Collaborate through Git based workflows (Stash/Bitbucket), participate in formal PR reviews, and maintain internal documentation across Confluence and Jira Service Desk.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
. Ability to obtain and maintain US Public Trust Clearance
. 10+ years of hands on Java expertise with strong proficiency in Spring Boot 3.x (MVC, Data JPA, Security, Session, LDAP).
. Demonstrated experience with PostgreSQL and JPA/Hibernate.
. Practical background implementing JWT, OAuth2, and LDAP authentication patterns.
. Experience building server rendered UI with Thymeleaf/Mustache and Bootstrap/jQuery/HTMX.
. Strong automated testing discipline (JUnit 5, Mockito, Cucumber, Selenium).
. Skilled in Maven multi module builds, parent POM structures, and advanced plugin configuration.
. Experience using Eclipse IDE and Lombok.
. Working knowledge of Groovy (Jenkins pipelines), Python scripting fundamentals, and familiarity with Helm/Kubernetes/OpenShift.
. Proven ability to independently troubleshoot, sustain, and enhance production systems.
. Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, container lifecycle concepts, and modern orchestration approaches.
Desired qualifications/non essential skills required:
. Experience integrating and maintaining Parasoft SOAtest (including Maven and DTP reporting).
. Prior work within federal agencies or highly regulated enterprise environments.
. Background authoring Jenkins Groovy shared libraries, authoring Helm charts, or scripting in Python.
. Familiarity with OpenShift deployment models and release governance best practices.
. Exposure to DevOps/observability tools (Docker Compose, Grafana, TimescaleDB).
. Experience integrating secure, agentic AI capabilities into existing systems while maintaining federal data integrity.
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $89,600.00 $194,000.00.
