Job description

Location: Alexandria, VA

Accrete is an agentic managed services company: an AI workforce that does high-stakes, judgement-heavy work for government and enterprise clients — at the economics of software, not labor.

At the core is Accrete’s Knowledge Engine, a dynamic context graph that captures an organization’s tacit knowledge, resolves data across silos, and builds a living, auditable ground truth. Expert agents reason against that ground truth to act on complex, high-stakes decisions — not just answer questions about them.

From national security to commercial operations, Accrete delivers the work on one platform, with unlimited expert agents and expert judgement.

The Role

As a Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of complex technology programs from planning through deployment. You will work closely with software engineers, AI/ML teams, product managers, government customers, and leadership to ensure projects remain aligned with technical requirements, customer objectives, timelines, and budgets.

This is a highly execution-oriented role. You should be comfortable communicating and managing high-touch relationships with Government Senior Executives, Contracting Officers, Contracting Officer Technical Representatives, and industry partners. You will be expected to direct and manage technical teams, understand “the realm of the possible” with AI software, AI development lifecycles, identify project risks, manage dependencies, and translate customer requirements to technology implementation teams inside and outside of Accrete.

The ideal candidate is organized, technically fluent, and able to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment where priorities and requirements can evolve.

What You'll Do

Project Management

  • Own day-to-day execution of complex technical projects and programs
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, AI/ML, product, data, security, and customer organizations
  • Track project progress and proactively identify risks, blockers, and schedule concerns
  • Drive teams toward clear milestones and deliverables
  • Manage technical dependencies across multiple teams and workstreams
  • Facilitate project planning, standups, technical reviews, status meetings, and retrospectives
  • Maintain clear documentation of project requirements, decisions, risks, action items, and deliverables
  • Establish project priorities and ensure teams remain aligned on the highest-impact work
  • Escalate issues appropriately and drive them toward resolution
  • Identify opportunities to improve project execution and delivery processes
  • Help standardize program management practices across Accrete Government

Government Customer & Program Execution

  • Serve as a key point of contact between Accrete technical teams and government customers
  • Manage client relationships and communications at the Senior Executive to the ultimate end user level
  • Translate customer requirements and mission objectives into actionable technical project plans
  • Manage customer expectations around scope, schedule, priorities, and technical dependencies
  • Track contractual deliverables, milestones, and program commitments
  • Prepare and deliver program status updates to internal and external stakeholders
  • Support customer meetings, technical demonstrations, testing, deployment, and acceptance activities
  • Ensure project execution remains aligned with government security, compliance, and operational requirements

Technical Coordination

  • Develop a strong understanding of the technical architecture, capabilities, and limitations of Accrete's products
  • Work closely with engineering teams to understand technical requirements, implementation challenges, and delivery timelines
  • Help translate product and customer requirements into actionable engineering work
  • Help ensure technical documentation and project artifacts remain current and accurate

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in leading teams, technical project management, program management, engineering project management, or a related role
  • Willingness to work 50% - 100% time on client site
  • Experience managing complex technical projects involving software, data, AI/ML, cloud infrastructure, or other technology
  • Experience working directly with engineering and technical teams
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and modern engineering practices
  • Ability to understand technical requirements, system dependencies, and engineering constraints
  • Strong project planning, organizational, and execution skills
  • Experience managing multiple projects, workstreams, or stakeholders simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with engineers as well as senior executives and government customers
  • Experience identifying and managing project risks, dependencies, and blockers
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain organization across complex programs
  • Ability to operate independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with a Counterintelligence or Lifestyle Polygraph

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, or other federal customers
  • Experience working in a government contracting or national security environment
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or other modern software development methodologies
  • Experience with Microsoft Project or similar project management tools
  • PMP, CSM, or similar certification
  • Experience working in classified, secure, or air-gapped environments
  • Ability to obtain and maintain additional security clearance accesses to Special Access Programs (SAP) or Access Compensatory Control Measures (ACCM)

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means technical teams are aligned, projects are moving forward, risks are surfaced early, and customer commitments are consistently delivered.

You will serve as the connective tissue between engineering, product, leadership, and government customers. You won't be expected to write the code yourself, but you should be technically fluent enough to understand what engineering teams are building, identify potential issues, ask the right questions, and keep complex technical projects on track.

The strongest candidates will be highly organized operators who can bring structure to ambiguous problems, communicate clearly across technical and non-technical teams, and take ownership of getting projects across the finish line.

Why Accrete Government

  • Work on advanced AI capabilities supporting U.S. government and national security missions
  • Partner directly with engineering, AI, and product teams
  • Own the execution of high-impact technical programs
  • Work directly with government customers and mission stakeholders
  • Help deploy cutting-edge technology into real-world operational environments
  • Operate in a fast-moving environment with significant ownership and impact

Salary: 185k-225k

The salary range provided reflects the estimated compensation for this role based on the expected qualifications and experience level. The final offer may vary depending on factors such as skills, experience, and alignment with role requirements.

Core Values & Expectations:

Impact

You take full ownership and accountability for your work, consistently seeing projects through from inception to completion with a strong bias for action. Proactively identifying challenges, you drive solutions rather than waiting for direction, and hold yourself and others to the highest standards for delivering results. With strategic thinking and a problem-solving mindset, you make informed decisions leveraging data and expertise, always looking for ways to improve processes, optimize workflows, and enhance outcomes beyond your immediate responsibilities.

Collaboration

You work seamlessly across teams, prioritizing shared goals and team success over individual credit. Engaged listening and open, candid communication are at the heart of your approach, ensuring alignment and synergy throughout the organization. You value diverse perspectives, seeking input from others to drive better results. By treating colleagues with respect and professionalism, you help build a culture of trust, supporting each other through challenges, celebrating successes, and constructively addressing conflicts to strengthen relationships and improve outcomes.

Passion for AI & Innovation

You are deeply excited about the transformative potential of AI and committed to contributing to a company shaping the future of work. With curiosity and a growth mindset, you continuously seek to learn, adapt, and stay at the forefront of new developments. You approach your work with energy and a desire to advance both technology and the way we work.
